If one would tell you that St. John wrote the book of revelation here, you would know why Patmos is maybe the most religious place in the whole of Greece. It is the holy or sacred island which is a favorite destination for monks from the all parts of the world. You should not be afraid of too much religious aspects here: the place is not only suitable for asceticism and prayer but for hedonism too: it has a beautiful and very long coastline decorated with perfectly organized beaches and tourism facilities. Worldly and Godly at one place – that is Patmos.
